I awoke early and took some photos of the empty Bistro. Seating is comfortable and more expansive than Crystal’s ocean ships. Due to Covid, the yummy food items are not self serve…a server is always nearby to assist guests.

We set off on an excursion through the town of Hafnarfjordur. Along the way, we passed the President of Iceland’s home.

Hafnarfjordur is situated on an ancient lava flow. The homes and yards are integrated into the lava.

On our way to the thermal fields of Krysuvik, we stopped at Kleifarvatn lake – one of the deepest lakes in Iceland. The atmosphere was heavy with fog and felt other worldly. Like we were on our own planet.

Temperature was about 45degrees F.

The thermal fields are absolutely mesmerizing. I parked Timmy on a rock and climbed for a bit, taking lots of photos. The challenge with taking so many pics is that I have such a hard time choosing which ones to include.

The sulphur smell was quite strong and very unpleasant in some areas.

Back on the tour bus, we continued on to the Viking museum, snapping photos through the window. The landscape is super cool.

Most homes have red roofs (…or rooves…choose your own spelling)
I was so delighted to spot these Icelandic Horses

The Viking Museum houses a fully seaworthy replica of a Viking ship…75 feet long.

Timmy is such a good sport…I said “Hey Tim…why don’t you go down and sit in the ship?”
The museum sits at the water’s edge and on a sunny day the view must be spectacular. Here’s a semi spectacular pic:

Late afternoon found us in the Cove enjoying Ken Burton’s Viking talk.

After the presentation we made our way up to the Palm Court for pre dinner drinks. Here’s Rodion ready to take Tim’s order.

We ended our day on the amazing Endeavor in the best way possible…caviar, mushroom soup, lobster and filet mignon. And so freaking grateful to be traveling again.
