Timmy did some carb loading in the club lounge before we set out for Sintra this morning .

Our Uber (about $30.00 USD) took less than 40 minutes, the last few miles through some beautiful country side with spectacular views

Visiting Sintra requires some serious climbing. The Pena Palace is a castle sitting atop the Sintra Mountains, it is one of the seven wonders of Portugal.

Between us we took about 600 million photos and I’m having a difficult time choosing which ones to post here.

It was wonderful being so high up in the clouds and the vistas were stunning.

I climbed one of the turrets to snap some photos before the vertigo took over completely.

Timmy memorialized my bravery.

A lovely young couple from NYC took this pic for us. We recognized each other’s accents immediately.   😂

This might be my favorite pic…mostly because I risked my footing for it. (Great-grandmother plunges from top of Castle-yikes).

At the apex of my climb, I was rewarded when I stumbled (literally) upon this Altar piece. It’s made of alabaster and black limestone.

The center niche portrays the Resurrection of Christ.

We enjoyed every minute of our time in Sintra. We barely scratched the surface of this amazing town on the Portuguese Riveria.

My guy  ❤️

This is the best thing that happened all day…I parked Timmy at the bottom of a huge flight of stairs…he was snapping pics and I called to him… I took this pic of him just before he snapped me.
