Over the years, we have celebrated our anniversary with family, with old friends, with new friends and just the two of us. This year we enjoyed an absolutely wonderful evening at Milos Restaurant.
There are so, so many excellent restaurants in Montreal, and we had numerous recommendations from folks we know, the Ritz’s concierges, and various food and travel websites. About a month ago, we narrowed our choices down to ten spots and Timmy printed their menus. Every day or so, we’d discuss our options…I’d make a choice…second guess the choice…review the menus again…and decide not to decide. The good news is that since we are here for eight nights – we will likely have the opportunity to dine at most of these fine choices. But, but… I hoped to make the ”perfick“ choice for this special dinner. Our tastes are eclectic, and we really do not have a preferred, go to special occasion cuisine…but we do really, really enjoy Greek food and there was just something about Milo’s menu…(and the over-the-top accolades from food critics and regular patrons) that nudged us (me) towards this Greek establishment. We knew going in that it wasn’t going to be a sedate, quiet, romantic spot, but we hoped for authentic, fresh and interesting choices. We were not disappointed.
We arrived about ten minutes early, were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated at the exact table I would have chosen for us. (As there were several less than optimal choices, I was grateful for our location).

Champagne cocktails
Yes, please snip some fresh herbs into the olive oil bowl
Every time we have Greek olive oil, we say ”we need to buy Greek olive oil!”
Kolokithi…thin sliced zucchini, tzatziki and saganaki. We love this appetizer.
This bright, delicious white is a Sauvignon Blanc and Assyrtiko blend

The requisite Greek salad
Amazingly flavorful crab cake
Sepia

We never stopped smiling…all night
We shared this Fagri …its mild, firm and very yummy
So two things in this photo…the perfectly cooked baby zucchini and Timmy got the fishes head
Baklava…of course
Beignets…really???
I said ”Hey Timmy, go stand under the sign”

Our meal was outstanding and the service was exemplary…but the absolute highlight of my evening? Enjoying it all with my Timmy. Thanks for following along. We are heading to Old Montreal today.
