November 28,2023 Marigot St. Martin

Is that alliteration necessary? Please read this post and let me know.

First breakfast…I’ve cropped out Tim…he usually photographs so well…but this time his eyes were closed and he looked weird.
Balcony view…we are at anchor… back in Marigot.

West Indies Mall as viewed from Serenity’s tender.

When we visited Marigot last week, I bought a few things, and once back onboard Serenity, I immediately regretted not purchasing a specific pair of linen pants. So…upon our return to St. Martin, I took the opportunity to tender off our ship…leaving Timmy behind to fend for himself. I returned to the West Indies mall in Harbour Point Village. Sadly the mall is a shell of its former self. When we were here in 2007 (or maybe it was 2008), the entire three story building was occupied by beautiful, high end shoppes. Currently, there are no tenants on the 2nd and 3rd floors … none. I didn’t ask, but I suspect that both the 2017 hurricane and Covid took its toll.

On our visit last week, I was very fortunate to encounter Claudette in the “DS Boutique Fashion Store”. She was very helpful in an unobtrusive way, finding my size, making suggestions…but not in any way pushy. As luck would have it, she was working again when I returned. She remembered me and asked “Where is your husband?” ( Everyone loves Timmy.) Luckily, there was one pair of the linen pants left…in my size…and on sale♥️ Win/win/win.

I walked up to the empty third floor of the mall for this photo.
Atrium in the West Indies Mall.
Returning to Serenity, I joined Timmy for lunch.

After lunch I called the Spa and secured a return appointment with Hilary.
Here’s another view of the relaxation room. The seating is so comfy.

I placed myself in Hilary’s hands and enjoyed a hot stone, deep tissue massage and a mini facial with a head massage. Oh my goodness. Beyond relaxing. ♥️

Timmy spent the afternoon resting too. Good thing, because we had a full evening of fun ahead of us.

Luckily Tim is not bifurcated in this elevator selfie.
