Arriving at the Lisbon airport we waited about 40 minutes to check in because Aegean Airlines shares its counter space with several other airlines. We’ve encountered this several times during our travels. I need to remember this because we like to check in early and wait in either the airlines’ lounge or one of the Amex lounges.

After check in we were directed to gate 16. Timmy and I have a long running joke about gate locations. It seems that since his ankle injury, 3.5 years ago, every gate, in every airport is the last one at the end of multiple walkways. This trip was no different.

After waiting at gate 16 for 20 minutes or so Tim’s Aegean App warned of a gate change to gate 24…in the opposite direction…down a long walkway. This is the kind of thing that makes us laugh.

We also play elevator bingo…which is fun when we stay on high floors. It’s a simple game…we each guess how many folks we think will get on with us as we descend to the lobby.

We boarded early and left on time 😊.

As it was a midnight flight on a puddle jumper, we had no expectations regarding meal service. About one hour into the flight we were served a meal consisting of pasta, bread, a cheese wedge with crackers, a dessert bar and very importantly, a nice white wine. Gotta love the European airlines.

Bags arrived on the carousel after about 30 minutes…one by one by one…Timmy speculated that the airport workers were rolling them over from the plane.
