We woke to a winter wonderland. The best kind of winter wonderland- complete stillness, just two inches of snow on the ground and with no appreciable wind, snow clinging to the trees.

I spent a few hours on our finances, Timmy bought logs for the fireplace…a perfectly ordinary morning. In the afternoon we fetched the bugs from their bus stop and brought them back to our home. Fluffy usually bolts at first glimpse of anyone, but today he stayed put on his cushion. I think perhaps our pet sitter, Marissa has placed him under a magic spell.

After snacks and a deep discussion about Christmas gifts, including whether we should give the red motorized car to Parker and the blue one to T. Parry, we began preparations for dinner. A perfectly ordinary afternoon.
Both lovebugs are enthusiastic cooking assistants.
Isabel’s on the broccoli and Claire’s slicing garlic. (That’s Fluffy in the background).

Humoring Grandma with a smile and a wave.

Isabel adding garlic to the shrimp.

Enjoying the fruits of their efforts.

After dinner we enjoyed watching the Lady Lions varsity girls basketball team play North Babylon in a non-league game. The Coach is an amazing individual-dedicated, hard working, handsome, oh… and he’s also my son 😊, Claire and Isabel’s dad. The game was a huge mismatch, due in part because the opposing team was missing their best player.

Opening tip off.
Just a few minutes into the game, I had a feeling we were going to win.

I love watching this team; they play fiercely, unselfishly and make astonishing passes.

The bugs made a new friend.

Final score
An ordinary day. A precious day.
