October 3,2023

One of the reasons we choose this itinerary was the opportunity to visit Dubrovnik twice. Although we were here a mere ten days ago…it seems like a long time has passed. The weather on this day was as perfect as we could have hoped for. We enjoyed breakfast on the veranda and then took the tender to the port at the base of the the old city. Our guide, Zjelko and a small boat were waiting for us. Yes, you guessed it…we left Symphony for a boat ride around the archipelago surrounding Dubrovnik. We anticipated snorkeling into the Blue Cave, swimming on a sandy beach and lunch at a waterfront restaurant. My idea of heaven on earth.

As much as l love docking in port, I also love being at anchor…nothing like waking up and seeing an Island off the veranda.
Photo taken on the tender as we headed to old town.
First selfie from our motor boat.
Quick getaway.
Leaving old town.
I could not believe these kayakers were out in the open sea…some of you may remember our kayak adventure off the coast of Iceland in 2021 ♥️
💙
We headed straight for the Blue cave.
There were quite a few other boats there too.
I swam for the Blue Cave…weaving around the other boats.
Of all the times to not have our underwater camera…oh well… it was magical and scary at the same time…and very, very blue💙💙💙
The water was significantly colder than the waters around Santorini…so we pulled anchor and motored away.
Zjelko took us to this cool little cove with this almost hidden surprise.
Can you spot the statue?
These blues rival Santorini.
We enjoyed the peacefulness of this cove.
We motored around for a bit, finding ourselves on the tiny island town of Neretva.
The only way to reach this slice of paradise is by boat.
This large vessel dwarfed the others.
We pulled up to a small dock.
I took this photo to try to convey the clarity of the sea water…#majorfail
Not a ripple.
We found some lounge chairs on the sandy beach.
Timmy swimming for the first time since 2019💙💙💙
So freaking happy.
We could have stayed all day…
But we climbed back aboard and set off to another island for a late lunch. Second selfie of the day.
Pulling up to the restaurant on Zaton Island.
On the walkway to Orsan restaurant
Another view.
Our restaurant
View from the restaurant
Sparing you the food pics…this restaurant was literally waterfront💙
Bellies full, back on the boat
We drove by this bridge ten days ago with Darko.
More kayakers…like tons of them …#goals
Our return to old town.
We love this city…actively plotting a future land vacation.
💙
Crystal tender…a happy sight.
Back on the ship just in time for canapés.
Enjoyed the setting sun as we sailed away.
One last look back to the sun reflecting off Dubrovnik.
Just one dinner photo…that’s Ramazan pouring the Baileys.
Clive and Michele with Tim after dinner.

So, as we are walking out of Waterside, we run into Ian Baker-Finch – we exchange pleasantries and introduce him to Clive and Michele.

Here you have Michele saying (in her adorable British accent) “I don’t know who you are”. Clive’s looking Ian up on the Google machine and Timmy is dying laughing.
Michele asked for a pic to share with her golfer friends.
(I did say that Baker-Finch is beyond gracious).

Another super day and evening. Thanks for following along ♥️
