October 8,2025 Tangier, Morocco
We choose this itinerary for the opportunity to visit new ports. It is a gift to experience different cultures and our day in Tangier was remarkable.
After our encounter with the snake, we continued winding our way down through the Medina…

Lots of narrow passages, fabulous doors and interesting shops…

I hope these photos convey a bit of the atmosphere …certainly the Medina in Tangier is unlike any other place we’ve experienced…

Years ago I spent an entire summer learning how to weave …so I was delighted to spot this loom.

This is a pancake like street food.

So many olives…I’m certain that Anthony Bourdain would have tried some…

We took a cinnamon coffee break…

…and we stopped for chicken skewers …

This juxtaposition, right here…

Our time in Tangier was brief and I know we barely scratched the surface of this city that dates back to the 8th century BC…but I loved learning about the early Berbers, the pirates and trading …our visit to the park, Hercules Cave…the drive along the coast…seeing camels! … and I especially loved visiting the Medina. It was a long, tiring day…but so satisfying.

Back on board we made our way to the Bistro for sustenance in the form of some yummy Rum Babas.

Then we rested (napped) longer than we should have …and later than usual…we made our way to the Cove…

After 8:00 pm seems to be a sweet spot in the Cove…we were able to chat with some of the delightful crew…

As we were leaving port I snapped this pic …

I asked Pandian for a photo too…earlier in the evening the crew is just to busy to pause even for a minute

A rare moment when Nilo isn’t surrounded by guests

I took this photo of the ceiling because it’s going to be replaced during dry dock…I won’t miss it.

This Tagine was beyond delicious.

Tim’s scallops

I could eat this couscous every night

Such a full and wonderful day in Tangier that I needed hours to sort through our photos and two blog posts to document this remarkable city.
