October 8,2025 Tangier, Morocco

With apologies to Tone Loc…

…we woke to this serene view.

We relaxed with coffee and pastries and walked off the ship at 10:00 am to meet Bilal our guide and Salah our driver.

.

We drove through pretty neighborhoods to the outskirts of Tangier, for lovely views. Bilal gave us some history, and an introduction to his culture.

.
.

Yes! That’s Salah, our driver from our days in Casablanca. How lucky are we?

One of the King’s many homes.

.

When setting up tours, we often request visits to natural settings and places where locals enjoy nature. Pericaris Park is perfick…high up a mountain, the air is fragrant with eucalyptus and the views are stunning.

.
.
.
.

Lots of families picnicking.

There’s a very cool story behind the park and this house…it involves love, sickness, kidnapping and betrayal. It would take all day for me to type it out… trust me – it’s a cool story.

.
.
.

If you don’t want to bring your own picnic…

Of course, on tour in a new city we also want to see interesting landmarks …

This lighthouse sits at a spot where the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea meet.

.

It’s so famous that the lighthouse is featured on the currency…Here’s Bilal holding up the proof.

Unlike some guides…Bilal loves to take photos of his clients …lots of photos

.
.

This pic was Bilal’s idea. Cute.

We drove along the stunning coastline …I was in heaven.

.

♥️

.

The caves were fun and cool…and damp…. forgive me …I’m in a silly mood today🥹

.
.
.
.

I would have loved to have gone down to the rocks.

.
.

We left the coast and made our way towards the labyrinthine Medina of Tangier…

.

…but first we passed by another home of the King…

.

…and many mosques…here’s one.

Salah drove us to the top of the Medina …somehow our car was allowed through…good thing because we had sooooo much walking ahead of us and if we had to walk that hill….

Anyway, the word labyrinthine was coined here. (Or it should have been). The Tangier Medina sits on a hillside overlooking the harbor. It’s a maze of alleys and buildings. With some cool squares thrown in.

.
.
.

Folks live behind these doors. There’s also stores, restaurants and hotels.

Most alleys are dotted with plants.

These little guys were making and selling plastic bracelets.

Which ship is Symphony …which ship is the Silver Ray?

.
.
.

So there’s a story here…Bilal wanted to take a photo of the two of us with our ship…I already had one of Timmy…but…whatever. Anyway, we recognize Sam and Scott from Symphony as they were taking a selfie, I offer to take their photo, Sam hands me her phone, Bilal has mine and …

…I love this pic of the four of us.

.

As we were walking along…this happened….

Only play this video if snakes don’t creep you out…oh and I figured out how to upload videos again…
