October 5,2025 Lisbon,Portugal
We woke to another stunning day.

Coffee and puzzles on the balcony, breakfast in Trident…then I had a spa appointment.

After a massage and a facial…I made the mistake of stepping on the scale. Upon returning to our room, I laced up …and leaving Timmy to fend for himself, I set off on a power walk. The Lisbon terminal is really quite nice, there are kiosks set up for travelers’ convenience.

I walked at a good pace for a mile, then slowed down to take in and enjoy my surroundings.

Lots of folks on the streets…but not crazy crowded.

As I walked, I came upon many familiar landmarks…like this street art in front of this tree.

I walked quiet neighborhood streets for a bit then I headed to Praca do Comercio…Commerce Square. Or as locals refer to it: Terreiro do Paco…Palace Yard.

The Square is an enormous public plaza right on the Tagus river. It was the site of the Royal Palace until it was destroyed in an earthquake in the 1700s.

The equestrian statue of King Jose.

Arco da Rua Augusta.

I walked through the Arch onto Rua Augusta, a large pedestrian street. It’s paved with black and white tiles, forming cool patterns. There are street musicians, artists and cafe tables lining the walkway.

Remember the caution about dining at cafes with photos of the food…don’t do it.

After a while I diverted to side streets…the combination of two cruise ships in port on a beautiful Sunday resulted in just too many people for me.

I walked and I climbed until I arrived at the elevator of Santa Justa. This vertical iron lift connects downtown Lisbon to Carmo Square. What a marvel.

Most of the storefronts are lovely…this one is a favorite.

So yes, I did some serious hill climbing.

Continuing my walk, I came upon another familiar landmark …Rossio Square

I clearly remember our guide, on our first visit, taking our photo here…he was a lovely man, I wish I could remember his name…but in my defense…that was 2019 and I can barely remember my own name.

Another cool storefront.

I know there’s a story behind these guys…

I wanted to find one of my favorite streets in Europe…of course I couldn’t remember the name…so I set my GPS to the Ritz…because I remember walking from the hotel to the waterfront every day in 2022. Soon enough I was on Avenida da Liberdade.

I love the small gardens…the beautiful mosaics …the whole vibe. I don’t remember the kiosks…but perhaps they are only here on Sunday…makes sense.

I left the commercial side of the street and walked and walked.

Once I reached the Monument to the Heroes -WWI…I turned around and headed back towards the waterfront.

These tiles are everything.

Back on Augusta Street

Slightly less congested.

I crossed the plaza to walk back along the river.

This adorable couple were sharing a pizza.

Back in our stateroom…Andrei, our super star butler, set us up with the makings of chocolate Baileys…that chocolate sauce is amazing 😊

Andrei also arranged for the White Port to be delivered to the ship…can’t be in Lisbon without a Port Tonic. We enjoyed these as we listened to Gordon Porth…the perfick start to a super evening.

And what a super evening it was. Tracie invited some friends to her birthday celebration…so many friends, she needed three tables to hold us all.

Dinner was delicious…here’s Barbara’s artichoke appetizer.

Tim’s oysters.

This seafood paella rivals any I’ve ever had. Truth.

Remi served Tracie’s Sticky Toffee Pudding. We all sang Happy Birthday.

After dinner we set off to Starlite for “Name That Tune” trivia with Gordon and cruise director Shane.

As we were leaving, I spotted these beauties…Kiki and Zoey…Zoey has moved to Serenity as Night Auditor and was visiting the ship. Kiki and Zoey were inseparable at the reception desk on Symphony. Congratulations to Zoey on her promotion🩷

Name That Tune trivia was a big hit…barely a free seat.

Alexandra and Timmy outside the Avenue Saloon.

Dan Davies playing all the favorites. We love him…he’ll be on Serenity in November 😍

Here’s a fellow passenger joining Dan…very accomplished, lovely voice.

So, yes, Disaronno, Port, pizza and cookies…the absolute best way to end another wonderful day traveling with Timmy. Thanks for following along🩵🩵🩵
