July 15,2026 Sonora Resort

.

I woke at 5:15 to this glorious view …and then this happened…

💙🦅🦅💙

.

Breakfast inside today, because we are about one hour earlier than usual and it’s still chilly.

.

Denise made us cappuccinos

That’s our boat Grizzly Master

.

Robynne our Captain…so knowledgeable about whales and Indigenous people and nature. We had a wonderful time searching and finding whales…the day was spectacular…it warmed up beautifully and we spent two hours enjoying the sea and her creatures.

..

I took lots of video of our sightings…although we didn’t see any spectacular breeches…we did see many whales, albeit from a distance.

Eventually we made our way back to the resort, stopping to visit some sea lions.

.

It’s times like this that I wish I had a real camera …

Back at the dock some resort guests were just cleaning their catch…4 beauties…

.

Oh my goodness…the tide was a bit lower than when we left…took us about 17 minutes to make our way up the ramp. Well it felt like 17 minutes.

That’s Bowin he brought us a Key Lime drink to try…beyond yummy. And Denise who curates delicious cappuccino’s .

So that’s my yummy Cauliflower and white miso soup with ginger and garlic. We also had Caesar salad and wings.

Lemon basil ice cream for me Pineapple cake for Timmy.

.

Back to the Spa for me ..Timmy communed with the eagles and seals. I joined him after a few hours.

.
.
.
.

Amuse= Sun-dried tomato, prosciutto and some other yummy thing.

.

Sourdough and herb butter.

.

My Halibut Crudo with blood orange, rhubarb emulsion, jalapeño and cilantro

.

Tim’s Organic Greens.

.

My Tagliatelle with dandelion consommé

.

Tim’s Lamb Sirloin with carmelized cauliflower, lemon and currants.

.

Tim’s Strawberry Mango Pave and my Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Another wonderful meal…we weren’t the only ones loving on Chef Jin…all around us fellow guests were oohing and ahhing over their meals…culinary masterpieces…at every table in the dining room.

No spectacular sunset tonight…and I’m pretty tired…so we didn’t linger on our deck. Tim snapped this pic of my nightly routine…I pop up behind the bath tub and let down the blinds…here’s why…the first night I shut the bathroom door because I knew the morning light would come pouring through those windows at 6:00, spill over into the bedroom and wake us. Well the light did spill into the bedroom…through the double sided fireplace…duh. So now I pop up there every evening.
