I used to dread flying out of LaGuardia … the whole getting here…locating the terminal…the lines…etc. But this trip, so far, so good. Because we couldn’t be sure what time the cat sitters would arrive, we opted to drive to the airport hotel and forego the car service. We left the house around 5:00 pm and were checked into the Aloft hotel by 6:30. This is a Marriott property- only a few years old – with a cool hipster vibe. Checkin took all of three minutes…including getting the parking tag. This hotel offers a ”Park & Fly” package- so handy especially since it appears to be located just outside the airport proper.

Timmy had a Greek Salad and Wings…me – a blackened chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries
The room was super spacious. Here’s Tim reorganizing the suitcase

Since we are only traveling for nine days, we decided to check one suitcase and pack enough clothes for two days in the carry on. We’ve been reading about so many folks’ bags being delayed – hopefully we’ve hedged our bet sufficiently.

So hopefully I’m not jinxing myself…but the shuttle left the hotel at precisely at 10:00 am and we were checked in 12 minutes later. As we approached security a delightful young woman approached us and asked if we wanted to sign up for Clear – Clear is a biometric based fast track through airport security. Took about 5 minutes.

This Sky Club opened last month and it is fabulous…someday I’ll tell you the story of this water dispenser.

We are heading for the gate now…wish us luck♥️
