Martinique December 6 ,2025
We had breakfast in our room because the sun was just too strong…

Walked off Serenity and found the ferry office right next to our pier…purchased tickets to Anse Mitron. We were instructed to wait pier side for our ferry…arriving in 15 minutes…there are many ferries going to many islands from Fort De France…somehow we got on the wrong ferry…going to the wrong island…in the wrong direction …even after asking multiple people, multiple times “Is this the ferry to Anse Mitron?” ….whatever…we wound up on Pointe du Bout …an adorable little spot…with an adorable little beach, five minutes from the ferry dock. We rented a palapa and chairs and settled in for a lovely beach day. I often tell the LoveBugs “everything always works out…maybe not the way you hoped or expected it to…but everything always works out”…and today it did…

Waiting on the wrong side for the wrong ferry…

The wrong ferry…

Timmy settled right in…I set out to explore…

We were tucked into a sweet, calm pristine bay…water so clear and perfick.

That’s me…I spent the day swimming and exploring …just heaven ♥️

Next thing we knew it was time to return …

…but first I walked around the marina in search of postcards for the Bugs…

…ummm yes, I love the bugs to pieces…but this seemed a bit steep…we are finding it harder and harder to find post cards…anyway…I found some for 40 cents a piece…

Back at the pier after a 20 minute jaunt across the bay.

So on the left…the ferry pier…on the right…the pier leading to Serenity.

… no captions needed…

Compare’ spritz for Timmy…

We tried to do something artistic here…total fail…
We’d switched our Osteria reservation to 8:00…and so glad we did…the lively “rush” was winding down and we enjoyed a most memorable meal.

Maurizio is a true Crystal Treasure and this sparkling Rose’ set the tone for a lovely evening.

The Alaimo brothers wine is really super wine…and Maurizio is a maestro. With every glass, he offered not just a tasting but a tale…vineyards, vintners, and traditions woven together. His generosity of spirit made the evening truly memorable.

Involtini di scampi

….and then there is Kasia…an absolute joy…her passion for the new menu is evident in every description.

Jose came by frequently to check on us

So the glasses have a story too…after Timmy mentioned how much he liked the shape and feel of the red glass…Maurizio smiled and returned with this…

Basically a crystal mixing bowl with a stem — perfect for nights when you only want ‘one glass of wine’.

Egg pasta with smoked butter

Gratinated saffron risotto with licorice.

Kasia plating our Lasagna

Do not let the crispy bits deceive you…the lasagna is wonderful.

The Tiramisu is created table side…

So yummy…

As were the two dessert wines.

We topped off the night in Stardust. The Showband, dancers and vocalists were terrific as usual.

Afterwards, Karin Kovacova sang a few songs and folks danced. This was a very full day and I loved every minute of it. Safe travels home to all our friends who will be disembarking tomorrow in Barbados. Thanks for following along. 🩵🩵🩵
